9月16日晚央视财经频道播出的《对话》栏目，以“打开江苏制造的密码”为主题。在节目中，江苏省委书记信长星对此回应：“‘苏大强’我们一般江苏人不太用。我认为这其中透露着对江苏的喜爱，同时更多的是期待。经济上要强、百姓要富、环境要美、社会文明程度要高，‘强富美高’，这是总书记给（江苏）擘画的蓝图，强是摆在首位的。”

江苏作为制造大省、工业强省，要在中国式现代化中走在前、做示范，这是总书记对江苏提出的新要求。信长星表示，这既是一份光荣艰巨的使命，也是一份沉甸甸的责任。作为近代民族工业的发祥地，江苏拥有厚实的工业基础，41个工业门类江苏有40个，工业门类非常全，拥有5个过万亿的产业，加起来达到13万亿规模；此外，江苏拥有8500万人口，对应1400万个市场主体，平均每6个人里边就有一个市场主体，市场活力强劲，拥有专精特新小巨人企业数量达到1504个。同时，江苏一直致力于打造一流的营商环境和产业发展的沃土。

谈到关于如何帮助传统产业焕发新活力时，信长星说：“面对传统产业，我们不能把它当做落后产能一退了之，要启动传统产业的焕新工程，焕发新活力。第一步要苦练内功，技术创新、打造杀手锏，这是最根本的。第二步要数字赋能，数字化升级改造，插上数字化的翅膀。第三步要拓展市场，面向国内市场，同时要走向国际市场。到大海中去学游泳、去比拼。”

谈到未来将布局哪些赛道时，信长星说：“聚焦五个产业，力争打造成具有国际竞争力、国际影响力的战略性新兴产业。同时在此基础上，再打造十个左右国内领先的战略性新兴产业集群，形成集聚发展的强磁力场。像未来网络通信、前沿新材料、深海的开发等，这些江苏都有比较好的基础。一旦产业风口到来，江苏必须在这些赛道上有一席之地，要有新作为、新贡献。”

据介绍，2022年江苏工业增加值4.9万亿、2023年上半年GDP增量3556亿、江苏新增专精特新小巨人数量795个。

人民网江苏频道今年8月消息，近日，2023镇域经济500强发布，江苏占据137席，前100名中有37镇上榜，数量均居全国第一；在此前发布的《2023中国县域经济百强研究》中，百强县江苏省占据23席，前10强中江苏省独占6席，并包揽前4位。
